Requirements
Two instances of InterDiode must be installed:
one on the black side, with direct access to the internet,
one on the red side, your internal network.
Transferring data to the red side
Physical datadiode
InterDiode is designed to bring internet resources into a disconnected network. With a data diode, you can receive data from the internet without risking compromising your critical data.
If you cannot afford a qualified data diode like the Thales Elips SD, it is possible to build your own data diode with affordable hardware, such as TP-Link MC100CMs or MC200CMs. InterDiode offers its own transfer protocol to push files through any of these data diodes.
Manual transfers
When you do not own a data diode, you can perform manual transfers by copying data exported from the black side to a CD/DVD/BluRay and then copying them to the red instance of InterDiode. Of course, you can also use USB sticks or drives, but you should not reuse them on the black instance for security reasons.
